Using multirate architectures in realizing quadratic Volterra kernels

چکیده
Multirate architectures have been used for realizing linear FIR digital filters with reduced computational complexity. The Volterra kernel can be represented as a generalized convolution. It would thus be expected that multirate architectures could be used to advantage in realizing Volterra kernels as well. The quadratic Volterra kernel may be realized in the form of an “LDL structure.” The LDL structure includes a set of FIR filters of increasing length, which may be realized in a computationally efficient manner using multirate architectures.

Multivariate Formulation
This paper presents a technique for modeling nonlinear distortion of multirate time-varying communication circuits. To properly consider the weakly nonlinear distortion effects in circuits with multiple large-signal excitations, we capture the quasiperiodic boundary condition of the system Volterra kernels using a multivariate formulation. We then extend the model order reduction work of [8][9]...
متن کاملCOLLOCATION METHOD FOR FREDHOLM-VOLTERRA INTEGRAL EQUATIONS WITH WEAKLY KERNELS
In this paper it is shown that the use of uniform meshes leads to optimal convergence rates provided that the analytical solutions of a particular class of Fredholm-Volterra integral equations (FVIEs) are smooth.
متن کاملReduced-Order Modeling of Flutter and Limit-Cycle Oscillations Using the Sparse Volterra Series
For the past two decades, the Volterra series reduced-order modeling approach has been successfully used for the purpose of flutter prediction, aeroelastic control design, and aeroelastic design optimization. The approach has been less successful, however, when applied to other important aeroelastic phenomena, such as aerodynamically induced limit-cycle oscillations. Similar to the Taylor serie...
متن کاملIdentification of Svd-parafac Based Third-order Volterra Models Using an Arls Algorithm
A broad class of nonlinear systems can be modeled by the Volterra series representation. However, the practical use of such a representation is often limited due to the large number of parameters associated with the Volterra filter structure. This paper is concerned with the problem of identification of third-order Volterra systems. The SVD technique is used to represent the quadratic Volterra ...
متن کاملQuadratic Pulse Inversion Ultrasonic Imaging(QPI): A Two-Step Procedure for Optimization of Contrast Sensitivity and Specificity
We have previously introduced an ultrasonic imaging approach that combines harmonic-sensitive pulse sequences with a post-beamforming quadratic kernel derived from a second-order Volterra filter (SOVF). This approach is designed to produce images with high sensitivity to nonlinear oscillations from microbubble ultrasound contrast agents (UCA) while maintaining high levels of noise rejection. In...
